Crunching the Numbers

$1,000: First-offense fine for a company that asks for social media account information from a job applicant, under proposed New Jersey state legislation.

$10,000: Proposed fine for companies that send out unsolicited text message advertisements.

$28 million: Cost of the new Brandywine Senior Living facility, which recently broke ground on Route 73 in Voorhees.

$5,000 each: Amount of money the Medford Business Association donated to the Haines Sixth Grade Center, to purchase 25 Kindles to aid in classroom education, and to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge to bring wildlife education to area schools.

1,700: Buyouts offered to Verizon employees, mainly technicians and call center employees.
