The YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties appointed Kevin Quinn as executive director of branch operations. Quinn’s newly created position will serve the YMCA’s Mount Laurel and Burlington branches.

Sean O’Mara, of Collingswood, joined the Tabolsky Law Firm in Cherry Hill. O’Mara will serve as an associate attorney for the firm and its clients.

The Gloucester County College Board of Trustees reappointed two members, Virginia N. Scott, of Paulsboro, and Isabelita M. Abele, of Mantua Township, as selected by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Deptford resident Carmen Ferrigno joined building products manufacturer Saint-Gobain. Ferrigno will serve as the company’s vice president of communications.

The surgical team of LMA Surgical Associates, a part of Lourdes Medical Associates, hired David A. Berg, of Voorhees, as their newest surgeon. Berg specializes in benign anorectal disease, diverticulitis, colonoscopy procedures, endorectal ultrasound and laparoscopic colon surgery.

Sun National Bank named Anthony LaMarca senior vice president and wholesale regional manager for South Jersey and Philadelphia. Additionally, the company appointed Joseph Tkac as the new senior vice president and manager of Sun’s commercial real estate.

The Virtua Board of Trustees named William F. Hyland Jr. to its board of trustees. Hyland is a partner with the firm of Hyland Levin LLP in Marlton.

South Jersey-based marketing/communications agency The Star Group welcomed Steve Albertini as a new managing partner in strategic initiatives. Located in Voorhees Town Center, The Star Group is the Philadelphia region’s largest independent marketing communications agency.

James Greenberg, of Duane Morris LLP in Cherry Hill, was elected to serve on the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey. CCSNJ provides members with opportunities to meet and do business, resources to enhance their position in the marketplace, and a collective voice on public policy issues that impact operations and profitability.

Joanne P. Robinson, of Marlton, was appointed as the inaugural dean of the Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden. Robinson had served as acting dean since July 1, 2011, and was chairwoman of the Rutgers-Camden Department of Nursing, the school’s predecessor, for four years.

Gold, Gocial, Gerstein LLC announced that as of Jan. 1, the Voorhees-based accounting firm is now named Gold Gerstein Group LLC.

PHH Corp., based in Mount Laurel, has promoted Glen Messina from chief operating officer to chief executive officer and president. Messina, who replaces recently resigned Jerome Selitto, joined PHH in 2011 after serving as CEO of GE Chemical and Monitoring Solutions.

Robert R. Kugler, of Archer & Greiner in Haddonfield, was elected to serve as secretary of the national board of directors of the American Cancer Society.

Fritz R. Bech was named Kennedy Health System’s chief of surgery. In this newly created role, Bech will provide systemwide leadership and oversee surgical services at all three Kennedy hospital locations in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township, as well as at its freestanding Surgical Center in Washington Township. Bech previously served as assistant professor of surgery and director of the Required Surgery Clerkship at Stanford University School of Medicine in California.

Jeremiah Phillips was appointed to The Drenk Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Phillips, a Shamong resident, is the director of sales for AnnieMac Home Mortgage in Mount Laurel and the owner of Profound Sound and Video. The Drenk Foundation, based in Hainesport, offers a full continuum of behavioral health services to more than 7,000 children and adults annually.

John M. Adams, a resident of Cherry Hill, joined Alloy, Silverstein, Shapiro, Adams, Mulford, Cicalese, Wilson & Co. of Cherry Hill and Hammonton as a new associate partner. Adams most recently worked as an accounting and tax manager. Alloy, Silverstein also welcomed Anne R. Schields, of Hainesport, as its newest associate. She most recently worked as a tax manager.

Duly Noted

The HomeCare Elite review recognized Holy Redeemer HomeCare in the top 25 percent of nationwide home health care agencies. Holy Redeemer serves 11 counties throughout New Jersey, including Camden and Gloucester counties.

Mount Laurel’s The Bloom Organization, a commercial industrial real estate development firm, celebrated a successful 2011 at the end of December. The organization noted 130 new and renewed leases finalized in the year, totaling approximately one million square feet of commercial real estate.

Cherry Hill company Simon Public Relations Group, Inc. was awarded top honors at the 43rd Annual Pepperpot Awards in 2011. Hosted by the Philadelphia Public Relations Society of America, Simon won “Best in Show,” along with eight other awards in a variety of categories.

South Jersey Health System, Inc. (SJHS), the parent of the South Jersey Healthcare organization, and Underwood-Memorial Health Systems, Inc. (UMHS), the parent of Underwood-Memorial Hospital and its affiliated organizations, signed a definitive merger agreement that will be submitted to the state and federal governments for approval. The organizations expect to receive final approval for a merger this spring.

Family Service and Steininger Behavioral Care Services officially merged on Jan. 1. Both private, nonprofit behavioral health agencies provide services to individuals and families struggling with mental illness. With a combined budget of more than $65 million, and more than 1,300 employees, the new Twin Oaks Community Services in Mount Holly is now one of the largest human services providers in the state.

Spring Hills Cherry Hill, a luxury senior living facility that transformed the former Inn at Cherry Hill on Route 70, officially opened its doors. Spring Hills Senior Communities, a New Jersey-based company, owns seven other properties in New Jersey, Florida, Ohio and Virginia.

The Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association, of Mount Laurel, received top honors at the 43rd Annual Public Relations Society of America Philadelphia chapter’s Pepperpot & Achievement Awards. JPMA was acknowledged in the Public Service category for its multi-year safe sleep education and awareness campaign.

ARI and parent company Holman Automotive Group made a $1.1 million pledge to the United Way of Camden County during its 2012 campaign, making Holman the first company to donate more than $1 million to the local United Way chapter.

Caffe Aldo Lamberti raised $7,000 during the month of December through a raffle benefit for Autism Speaks – Greater Delaware Valley Chapter. Autism Speaks is the country’s largest autism science and advocacy organization, committing more than $160 million to research and resources for families in just five years.

The Verizon Foundation awarded a $7,500 grant to Bancroft, a leading service provider for people with autism, brain injuries and other intellectual or developmental disabilities. The funds are designated to provide educational technology, such as distance-learning programs, for Bancroft’s special-educational programs, including The Bancroft School in Haddonfield and The Bancroft School at Voorhees Pediatric Facility.

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center was recognized as an Aetna Institute of Quality Cardiac Care Facility for its clinical performance, quality, value and access to comprehensive heart and vascular treatment. Aetna makes information about the quality and cost of health care services available to its members to help them make informed decisions about their health care needs. In line with this goal, Aetna recognizes hospitals and medical facilities in its network that offer specialized clinical services for prevalent health conditions.

The Ravitz Family Foundation donated 4,000 new and gently used coats to the United Way chapters in Burlington and Camden counties. A month-long coat drive was held at ShopRite locations in Cherry Hill, Marlton and Mount Laurel during the holidays, resulting in the largest collection in the four years the Ravitz family has done this.

Reynold P. Cicalese, managing shareholder of Alloy, Silverstein, Shapiro, Adams, Mulford, Cicalese, Wilson & Co., was named president of INPACT Americas, an international alliance of independent accounting firms, for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1.

Jeffrey J. Saline, president of Saline Financial Solutions, was appointed to several boards within NEXT Financial Holdings, Inc. this past December. In addition to being a board of directors member of NEXT Financial Holdings, Inc., 4WARD Financial Marketing, Inc., and WE2, Inc., he has been named to the company’s other affiliates: NEXT Financial Group, Inc., Job Creation Plus One, and NEXT Financial Insurance Service Company.

South Jersey Industries’ Edward J. Graham was named to the board of trustees for NJTV, a non-profit organization that provides public business information without state funding. Graham is the president, CEO and chairman of SJI.
