Patrick M. Kane, PE, has been elected as the new president of Taylor, Wiseman & Taylor. Kane succeeds Thomas M. Howell, PE, who has served as president since 2012. Bruce K. Easterly, PE, has also been named as the firm’s secretary/treasurer.
Cara Garofalo, MD, has been named chair of pediatric cardiology at Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
Dilworth Paxson added Nanda Kumar to the firm’s Intellectual Property group.

Parker McCay announced the following hirings: Scott Miccio as an associate in its municipal and government department, Dave Klumbach as counsel in its corporate department and Amy Guerin as an associate whose practice areas will include employment and labor and public schools and education.

Deborah A. Hays of Archer & Greiner has been appointed chair of the firm’s board of directors. As the firm’s first female attorney to assume the role of chair, Hays will begin her five-year term on Oct. 1. She succeeds James H. Carll, who has led Archer’s board of directors for the past 17 years.

Senate President Steve Sweeney received the “Person of the Year” award for the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)—Mid-Atlantic Chapter at its annual awards banquet. The CMMA is a nonprofit and nongovernmental professional association serving the construction management industry.
